Snowcat, when expandingDirection="down/left" and the tooltip position = "top" and apperance = "top" the tooltip gets cut off. Any plans to be able to set a margin inside the control so that this can be worked around?

Snowcat, great product. I've purchased your professional version and have a couple of issues:

1) CPU usage spikes way up when I load more than about 40 images. In IE 7, the usage is incremental as the image count grows. In Firefox 3.0.11 dockmenu raises the cpu utilization to around 30%, with only a few images. Even your own demo exhibits this behavior in Firefox. I have a test page available for you to see at:

You can vary the number of images with the url parameter.

2) When you have many images in the list, viewing the entire image and
description of the far left or right image becomes difficult.

Great product, snowcat. Really like the ability to customize via xml params.

Hi,

Great component. I hope this question has not been asked already. I am trying to find a way to get rid of the white space (or blank space) that shows up at the end of the cycles from left to right. In other words, I was hoping to have the rotation end at the end of the final image on the left side or the right side.. instead of that extra bit of blankness that appears. Thanks for your time!

Hi,

Great job on this DockMenu Snowcat. I’ve purchased a bunch of your files and am extremely happy with my purchase.

I am having some strange behavior with the DockMenu Flash Video. It is extremely choppy when viewed with IE8, but is smooth using Mozilla/Firefox. I’ve read that this is an issue with the 10.x.x Flash ActiveX plug-in.

I’ve read that some people have overcome this issue by displaying it and somehow forcing the use of the 9.x.x Flash ActiveX plug-in instead of the current version.

You can view the issue at:

However, on this very page you have the sample DockMenu displayed and I don’t see any choppyness with the video rendering at all. I’m pretty confused now…

Any ideas on how to resolve the issue on my site? Your help is much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Hi, thank you for this great plugin. I just purchased the 3.0 Dock Menu professional ! And I have two questions.
I can not find how to hide the text box that appears on each image. Is it Possible ?
Can I change the background color for an image? My company wants to put a gradient background.

Thank you!

...this is a follow up to my message about suppressing the hand cursor. I had a new idea:

Rather than suppressing the hand cursor, I could make it functional by assigning all my thumbnails the same url. Unfortunately, the url has important attributes (it opens a Floatbox). Is it possible to add the following url to my images.xml? :

<a href=“my-floatbox-page.html” class=“floatbox” rev=“width:980 height:600 scrolling:no”>

Thanks!

Thanks for the great component. It’s a breeze to use. One question.
I’m not using the ‘url’ attribute in my images.xml, and yet when I embed my swf in an html page the cursor changes to the little ‘hand’ over my swf indicating a hotspot—this is confusing for users. Is there any way to supress that hand cursor?

ngaheer, you’d have to be an expert to be able to make changes to the source code

You could tell me which are the changes you want to make to this component, and maybe I could help you in the near future. Otherwise I’d be happy to fully refund your purchase.

You said “if we want to show different images in this gallery at different pages of my website, then i need to have various swf, settings.xml and images.xml.”
Not various swf’s, but different settings and images.xml. How else would you provide different sets of images to the same menu? I have split the settings from images xml files cause the contents of both could be pretty big and the content is pretty different.

Hi.

Today only i purchased DockMenu Commecial 3. First of all, i felt surprised seeing that fla file does not have the real code to the component, but just have the component imported into it.

Now i studied the whole component and found that this component is not really able to suit my needs. But if some changes made, it will be perfect product to be implemented on my website..

Actually this component have settings.xml and images.xml. We provide path of images.xml inside settings.xml
So it means showing images in this gallery is totally dependent on the settings.xml. If we want to show different images in this gallery at different pages of my website, then i need to have various swf, settings.xml and images.xml.. But i dont want to create so many files for same purpose.

What i am looking for, is a way in which i can make use of something like parameters so that images can be customly set on the gallery as per provided in the parameter value. Or can i somehow provide xml directly on the swf as some parameters. Say like <object src=“Gallery.swf?imagesXml=blablabla.xml”>

Munish

markbee, you will have to do the following:
in the index.html file (or the HTML file which embeds the DockMenu), add between the HEAD tags the following code:

<script type="text/javascript">
function popUp(URL) {
day = new Date();
id = day.getTime();
eval("page" + id + " = window.open(URL, '" + id + "', 'toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=1,width=700,height=700,left = 300,top = 300');");
}
</script>

Then in the XML file, for each url attribute set:

url="javascript:popUp('http://www.google.com')"

UlrichEbsen, I updated the Dock Menu with two possible values (in both settings.xml file and Component Inspector):
1. startingPixel (the starting _x position of the Dock – _y for vertical) – possible values are between 0 and dockWidth
2. gotoStartingPixelOnRollOut – true or false (in UlrichEbsen’s case, true)

Please re-download the commercial archive.

Hello

Thanks for this great DockMenu 3.0. I bought the commercial version last week. It works very fine, also the link method «self» (in the same window) or «blank» (in a new tab) when clicking on an image.

Now my question: I want to popup a new 700×700pixel window when clicking an image.

Is this possible? Please let me know the solution. What is the code? Where I have to place it? and and …

Thank you.
