for those having problem with link target!!!
The file has been updated now you can set through the XML file the target:
download again source code(I hope it’s free once purchased)
edit the xml file:
linkto=”_self” – set the target you want!
Hope this will work(worked fine for me)

Is it possible to change the font type ? Features includes “ menu items font size” but what about the font type?

Yes it’s possible to change font type but in this case you’ll have to edit the fla file.

For those who having problem with menu items function option
case number will be always the menu item count number starting from 1
Keep in mind that :
case 1 – is for the first button
if you want to put a function option to the 3rd menu item you’ll have to write:
case 3 .....

Hi leskography,
I purchased the package today from you but cannot get it to work. I changed the xml, that was fine, I changed the font in the fla, that was fine. It looked great in the preview swf but it will not work in the menu swf. I have even tested the movie again from the fla but to no avail. Even when I redownloaded the file and kept the original font, it would still not work. Can you help ?

I have all of your files inside of a folder named navMenu which is in my root directory. How do I embed the menu in my index.html which is also in the root directory?
Also, can you tell me how to edit the following to open a page called “ourProducts.html” which is in the root directory as well

If it’s in the root directory than you should type the relative url:ourProducts.html…if not type the absoulte:http://www…......ourProducts.html

What am I missing here? This is the second flash menu I’ve downloaded on here and I cannot get the link function to open in the same window. I just downloaded it an hour ago, set it all up beautifully and I’m having the exact problem I was having with the other one. It does not seem to recognize the “_self” function. If I put “_blank” in the “linkto” function it opens fine in another window.
I am trying to work on my site locally so the files have not been put to the server yet if that makes any difference. I’m at my wits end here. Any ideas?

I can't get any function to work, this is the function I'm trying to use-
case 1: gotoAndPlay ("about");
and the xml:
<menu name="About" type="function"/>
please help me with this, and maybe you can write me a sample of a working function to compare.

It’s not good man….if you want to play the function in case 1 this will look slike this:
case 1: about();
and you’ll have to define twhe function outside the switch conditions
function about(){ gotoAndPlay (“about”) – where about is the label name I guess
}
and remember menu name has nothing to do with function name!!!!

I looked at the previous posts but I’m still having a problem with the function.
in the fla I have
case 2: vidnav(); break;
the settings have
<menu name=“MENU ITEM 2” type=“function”/>
And in the index.html where this menu is called I have a short function
function vidnav() {alert(“test”);}
Nothing seems to happen when I click on menu item 2.
Does it matter where in the index that the function vidnav() is located?
any thoughts? Is this code compatible with Adobe Flash CS4?

I am having a problem with horizontal view. The text starts at the center then goes to the right, so every time I place my swf file I have a box that is half black and half text. How do I fix it so the text is on the left hand side like your preview.swf or the example shown above?
