  • Hi, I intend to purchase the 3D flat wall. Is it possible to change the background color? Thank you.

  • Hi,

    Thank you.

  • Yes, the background color is whatever color you set for your Flash movie background. The 3D Wall does not have a background color (it is transparent) so you can use any background that you desire.

Also, these aren't 6 different versions of the component. The flat wall and curved walls are created using the same component, just setting the curvature to different amount.

  • Is there a way to make this to display Video?
If not, do you have a video product?

    Thanks

  • Would I be able to import it to Flex 3?
    #  /  posted on May 28, 2008
  • This component displays images only - not videos. We don't have a video product. It will only work in Flash CS3 - not exported for Flex.

  • I am a Flex developer, will it be easy enough for me to setup the component?
    #  /  posted on May 29, 2008
  • This component is very easy to set up in Flash - there's no programming or AS knowledge required.

Please note: You cannot set this component up in Flex as it will only work in Flash.

Is it possible to load an swf instead of jpg's ?

  • I have a problem adding url to the pictures. I used the manual, copy and paste the code, but the swf can't read any picture

  • Of the 60 customizable parameters, is background one of them? i.e. to white? I'm sure it is but i need to be sure..thanks.

  • You can have any background color that you please, or even a background image. The component does not actually have a background (it is transparent) so the background is whatever background or color you choose for your Flash movie.

Is it possible to make an hyperboloid ?

    Thanks

  • This shape is currently not possible but thanks for the suggestion. We'll see if this can be incorporated into a future release.

  • Is there any way to allow a sigle click to zoom the image in and out and have a double click activate the url link function. Or is there another way to have the large image manipulated to call the link. I like using the mouse completely (scroll bar, click to select an image to zoom in on and then click to return to the full wall, but I need to be able to click on the large image only to open a new window. The idea is that someone can look at an overview of the pictures, select one to see bigger and then decide whether they want to use it as a link or send it back to the overview of the wall.

  • You can detect when the large image is clicked on and have it open a URL when clicking on it, however this will happen whenever the large image is clicked on. There are events to detect when it is clicked on and when it is returned to the wall without clicking on it.

  • Is this xml driven
    #  /  posted on Jun 25, 2008
  • Yes it is XML driven. The images through XML and most of the parameters can also be set through XML.

  • Do you get the .fla file when you download the component? I really need this.
    #  /  posted on Jun 26, 2008
  • The source files are not supplied with this component. It is a compiled component.

  • Concerning answer to sparklingmoments question of June 21, 2008. I didn't quite understand the answer. Unfortunately I'm alittle tech-inpaired and am just learning more about Flash. I also would like to incorporate the same results as sparklingmoments is looking for and possibly use the wall as a showcase for products in an online store I'm developing. I love the wall itself and I understand that you are able to attach a URL to the large pictures. but....Am I to understand the large picture immediately goes to the URL instead of allowing the viewer to decide if they want to do that or to look at the large picture then continue to view other objects on the wall without automatically going to the URL. Also if they automatically go to the URL will they be able to go back a page and arrive at the thumbnail wall.
    Thanks for your time.

  • This is an excellent component, it comes with many FLA examples which is really helpful. :)

But it needs to come with a script that will automatically generates the base XML files from a directory of images, with the image dimensions. It takes so long to create the XML files, and manually enter the image name and dimensions. Maybe create a script that does it and sell it as an add on. Right now I have folders with images, and I have to manually enter each image one at a time, enter the height, then the width, then the params.... I'll go crazy half way through!
