  • I've bought this and it's a fantastic menu. I would love a version that scrolls vertically as well as I'm not experienced enough to reformat this version myself.

  • Hi,

Thanks for purchasing 3D Zoom Menu XML AS 3.0. We're considering adding a vertical variation for the menu in the next update and you'll be automatically notified when it will be released.

  • Does this app allow for alternate sized graphics? I have several cartoon strips I would like to scroll through. They are not all the same width...is this the right app for me? Thanks.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your interest in 3D Zoom Menu application. It doesn't allow for alternate sized graphics since it needs fixed values to be used in image positioning calculation.

  • I suggest that you add the option to lock on the selection once the selection is made. This would improve this component greatly.

added 3d zoom menu to stage. get all kinds of compile errors…mostly due to type undefined( ie object, integer, etc). was able to fix most of the problems but still getting
1120: Access of undefined property maskMc.
1119: Access of possibly undefined property maskMc through a reference with static type flash.display:DisplayObjectContainer.

downloaded 3DZoomMenu_AS3.0.zip but maybe I got the as2 version which isn‘t so picky about type casting?http://www.flashcomponents.net/images/smileys/2.gif

  • Hi,

If everything goes fine in the original file then it should work also in your .fla files, you just need to uncheck the strict error setting for your Flash file settings.

    1. Open the Publish Settings Panel from the File menu or inside your newly created .fla file press CTRL Shift F12.

    2. Go to the Flash tab and click on the Settings button on the right of the ActionScript version drop down.

    3. Uncheck the Errors %u2013 Strict Mode checkbox and you can also uncheck the Automatically declare stage instances checkbox.

    4. Click ok / ok and run again your .fla file.

  • Hi I am probably being a real monkey but I can‘t actually get the links to work when I set them in the config.xml file – what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance :D

  • Make sure you have the latest .fla version else login to your account and download the package again. As an alternative open the .fla file in Flash and edit the menu Movie Clip from the library and in ActionScript layer go to pressHandler() and releaseHandler() functions and comment the bpress() and brelease() function calls since are not used in this movie.

This was already fixed if you are using the latest.fla file.

  • Thank you, I only bought and downloaded it this morning so I assumed it was the latest version…

Stupidly enough I don‘t have Flash on this machine so I can‘t check but can you confirm that this http://pastie.org/292150 should send some back to local index or webhost/index?

    Thanks again

  • Hi,

Well, use the second link having the absolute path: http://yourwebdomain/index.html and make sure the index.html exists in the root of your site.

So if you have the latest version of the .fla file and all the necessary files (xml, images etc) in the same directory from your server like in the package you have downloaded then it will work just fine.

    FT

  • For your advice – I have it working to display the images that I want, but it is ignoring the links – I‘ll look at it in more depth when I have time and the right tools – great looking piece of flash though, thanks :)

It‘s here if you want to see what I mean http://zenmaster.homeip.net/Galleries.html

    Thanks again

  • Hi,

The .swf file included in your package is old, that‘s why the links are not working.

Open the .fla file in Flash and export a new .swf file and it will work just fine.

    FT

  • Hi,

Thanks for your interest, but if you purchased the menu as you say then below your avatar image should be displayed the message “Has Bought the File” like you see for other users posting comments here.

The menu package contain enough information to help you getting started supposing you are familiar with Flash and not a total newbie because if you are a total newbie it would be better to get familiarized with Flash first and after that use the menu or better ask a more experienced Flash developer for some extra help to setup the menu.

The menu is working fine for many users so it will work also for you if you purchase the file first and do all necessary settings correctly.

  • FT,

    what about the useFixedImageSize variable?

When i set this value to 1 i get this error:

    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable imgMc_01 is not defined. at global/flash.utils::getDefinitionByName() at 3DZoomMenu_fla::3DScene_3/addItem() at 3DZoomMenu_fla::3DScene_3/createObject() at 3DZoomMenu_fla::menu_2/addObjects() at 3DZoomMenu_fla::menu_2/xmlHandler() at 3DZoomMenu_fla::menu_2/onComplete() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/flash.events:EventDispatcher::dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at flash.net::URLLoader/flash.net:URLLoader::onComplete()

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

Only the default value of the useFixedImageSize variable is used in this application, so leave it on his default value.

  • We have purchased the component 3DZoom Menu XML AS 2.
In this the images in the left hand zoom-in in left direction, and the right hadn images zoom-in in right direction, can you pls tell us what to modify so that when zoomed-in, the images will zoomin in the center straight upfront instead of zooming in left or rightdirection, like what you have in this component
    http://www.flashcomponents.net/component/2d_zoom_menu_xml_as_3.html
    Please help

  • Hi,
First thing this is not a problem with 3D Zoom Menu. This is the effect of the images in the 3D Zoom Menu because of the camera perspective (like you move a camera in a left – right direction you see the objects from a camera perspective).
If you want the images to behave like in 2D Zoom Menu you need to purchase separately also the 2D Zoom Menu since these are different applications and you will have both 2D and 3D zoom menus for your current and future projects.
Hope the above suggestion will help.

  • This software sounds too good to be true. I have some company jpegs of events that I wish to hyperlink to some training avi videos. However, I would like to sample the software before I purchase. Can that be done or at least let me know if there is a better way.
    thanks

  • @glad2zu:

This menu application does exactly what is described in the online text description. The source code is included in the download package. It is based on a simple As 3.0 3D environment engine named 3D Scene and you can download 3D Scene AS 2.0 for free from this site (check our profile page the 3D Scene AS 2.0).

This menu is an application of 3D Scene engine like other applications from our portfolio powered by 3D Scene such as 3D Stack and 3D Rotate Carousel.

  • Hi,
I recently purchased the 3D Image Zoom XML for my site.  Is there any way to implament this in DotNetNuke FCKeditor or iframe and direct it to open in the DNN website onclick instead of the iframe? I have tried both "_self"{opens inside the frame not the site} and "_blank" {Blocked as popup to new window}.  I've read all over and there seems to be no other way to use Flash in DNN except in a iframe.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Hi,

I think the argument you're looking for is either "_top" or "_parent". These should open the links in a parent frame/window.
Please let us know if this helps.
