    hello,

    bought today, great player. would you mind adding a simple
    routine so that the player automatically adjusts not to the size of
    the stage, but to the size of the player movieclip?
    that would be a big step forward, since it would allow people to
    integrate the player with their own flashsites.

    (like: i pull it on my stage, resize the player-movieclip and the controls and stuff are automatically adjusted to the size eof the player-movieclip)

    regards
    david

    I am interested in a media flash player that can be embedded into a website without the use of javascript. So far I could only find your player.

    I have three questions:

    1) Does it really work without javascript, your example in the comment from November 17, 2008 (link text) doesn’t seem to work any longer.

    2) Is it possible to use your player without javascript both as audio and video player?

    3) Can the basic version also be used without javascript?

    Thank you in advance,
    Daniel

    Hi. Can you make it so that mp3's show loading progress just like flv's do? That doesn't appear to be happening?

    Also, can you make it so that mp3's load at least using http streaming without having to wait for the entire mp3 to load?

    Thanks.

    Looks like it DOES do that if I use an absolute link to the mp3. That will work.

    My site is hosted on a server that uses Python. What features will not work because of this?

    I am getting the error “netstream.play.nosupportedtrackfound” when I am trying to test my movie and press play. I have tried using a relative and absolute path to the movie on line 173.

    ex:

    var MediaLink:String=“http://wri.eas.cornell.edu/sea_grant_website/AS-Flash%20Media%20Player%201.2/video/video.mov”;

    This is a really good looking flash player with a number of great features. A main reason I purchased this script was for the closed captioning part.

    I need to have Chinese character closed captioned. I’ve tried to enter Chinese characters into the subtitle XML file but they just don’t show up.

    Is there a way to get Chinese characters to show up?

    Thanks

    I have also tried to convert the chinese characters to unicode numeric values. But this does not show up either.

    re pwc8888: open source (.fla) and embed chinese font

    - open flash library (CTRL+L)

    - goto folder “AS-Flash Media Player (standalone) / Font”

    - right mouse click on “library_font”

    - properties

    ...

    export new swf…

    Thank you for the quick response.

    By following your instructions, I was able to get Chinese characters to show up in the subtitles. The only thing is now my flash movie player has gone from under 100k to 2.3mb in size. When I used another Chinese font, the size of the file was over 8MB. Is there any way of reducing the size or is this the price that needs to be paid for Chinese characters?
    Also, When I full screen the player in my firefox, the font resized appropriately, but when I try it on IE, the font become microscopic. Is that a known bug?

    Is it not possible to change it via a parameter? I have a few sites I’d like to use it for but I’d need to change the color for each site..

    File is updated (v 1.21)

    You can change default player colors with FlashVars (SWFObject example)
    —————————————————————————————————————————————-

    so.addVariable(“backgroundBarColor”, “0×1A1A1A”);

    so.addVariable(“btnsColor”, “0xFFFFFF”);

    so.addVariable(“outlineColor”, “0×666666”);

    so.addVariable(“outputBkgColor”, “0×1A1A1A”);

    so.addVariable(“outputTxtColor”, “0×999999”);

    so.addVariable(“loadingBarColor”, “0×666666”);

    so.addVariable(“loadingBackgroundColor”, “0xCCCCCC”);

    so.addVariable(“progressBarColor”, “0×000000”);

    so.addVariable(“volumeBackgroundColor”, “0×666666”);

    so.addVariable(“volumeStatusBarColor”, “0×000000”);

    Thanks

    I recently purchased the AS Flash Media Player V 1.2: It’s a terrific player that is extremely flexible and versatile. It seems to have features that most players do not have and it really puts most players to shame – and I don’t say that lightly. If you need a flexible player this one will certainly do the job. There are so many options that can be set for this player and the documentation provided seems to cover everything the player can do – but you will need to figure out what to study depending on your exact requirements are. I’ve been able to configure the player for either video or images. There are more expensive players that don’t even come close to this one and for the price it is an investment well worth it.

    Hi
    1. Can I buy a personal license first, and than upgrade it to commercial?
    2. Can I use a single commercial license in several medias of one commercial project (ex. CDs and a website promoting the same product)?
    3. Is it possible to embed this player into a Flex app.?
    Thank you!
