  • hello i have an issue using this with swfs that have sound. fade #1 is not fading out the previous swf, it just fades in the next swf on top of it, with the previous swf popping out and not really fading at all. plus this causes the sounds to overlap making quite a racket.

i have some as2 skill and would like to see if i could program a stopAllSounds when any of the buttons is pressed. for this purpose it’s ok if the old sound does not fade. i just want it out before the new sound begins.

i notice the bulk of the code is nested inside of the main symbol, so that’s no problem BUT any clue where i should put the stop sounds action and where i might look to trouble shoot the fade out. line numbers, variables and/or symbol names would really help.

great component though – i’m just asking it to do more than it’s orginal intent LOL. thanks.

You should try adding code to your swf files. As they contain sound objects.
and are separate from each others.

  • Nice app, hopefully will save me some time for a retail site I am designing. I have two questions I hope you can help me with:

IE gives the active X warning, I really need just a flash slideshow that will not generate this and scare away possible purchasers. Can I modify somehow to avoid this? I know many sites that use a slideshow in their banner and throughout the site and no warnings. I could use a PHP script but this generates the same warning which is why I purchased your flash app, hoping to get around that issue.

Second question (newbie to flash so sorry if this is my oversite): I want the pictures to be borderless and have the BG color of the page or cell to surround it, in IE 89 only, a white border shows up on the right and bottom. Not on IE7 or Firefox. I did resize to match my pic sizes and at first thought this may have been the issue, but then noticed it only happens on IE8.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially on the Active X warning.

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • @mike.heffley :: Thanks.

    *1. *

Well There is no problem with the script. When you check JavaScript on local machine browser give you warnings. And I am using SWFObject to embed this gallery inside HTML.

Once you upload your files to on-line server there should be no problem.

    2.

if you are experiencing spacing. its because your images are of small size. or your table or dive tag has non breakable spaces inside, where you are embedding your swf file.

    you have to use images of same size, to the size for gallery you specify in XML file { HEIGHT and WIDTH }

hope this helped. Email me for further correspondence.

  • Hi Tabaheee,

I’ve purchased your product and would like to thank you for a great work!

The only thing that I want to get removed is that white preloader line. Could you please help me out?

    Sincerely,
    Dmitri

    Thank you ..

you need to delete a movie clip from the library..

    _SLIDESHOW >> _PRELOADER >> preloader.

simply delete it and this will hide the preloader bar from the gallery.

  • I’ve purchased this component and I receive the same error each time the swf is used in a webpage. The error I get says that there can only be 1 top level node in the XML file – that is to say – <Images> and <Settings> are conflicting with each other.

I’m primarily an animator who uses Flash instead of a Flash Dev so I don’t have the code knowledge to fix a problem of this complexity. Its a great component and was looking forward to using it for the site I am creating but is rendered utterly useless right now.

this gallery is build in AS 2.0. It does not matter how xml file is organised. as long as it is readable by flash. i dont see this error using my own files. can you please confirm by sending me your files :

  • there seems to be a delay on when the dots/next/prev button are click able. like maybe a second or so. how can i change it so there’s no waiting when clicking the dots/next/prev button?

    works great and nicely commented!

I did it on purpose. You can only click on buttons/dots once image is fully loaded. It is to avoid errors and memory overloading.

  • very nice. I have one important question: I need to place the gallery on my webpage with abolutely no borders, no border lines, and no padding around the images. I noticed someone else asked a question about this.
It is possible or is a border part of the animation?
    Many thanks
    Al Cain

  • Al Cain,

Well there is no Border and no Padding attached to the gallery..
Or if you have any difficulty installing it to your website, just let me know I would love to help you.

  • Thanks for the quick reply Shahab.
Can you also confirm that it is possible (via XML paramaters) to completely hide all buttons, nav and dot items. So that only the images show?
    Cheers
    Al

  • Hi,
Is there a limit image size on Auto Play XML Image Gallery? The size I need is 1024 pixels wide x 462 tall.
Also, can I customize the photo captions, change the position of the text and use different fonts?

    Thank you!

  • @whittm

well this gallery is fully resizalbe without even opening flash. you can do it via xml file.

you can update text via xml too. however for a different font you will need to modify the fla file manullly.

    Hope I answered your question.

  • Hi, thanks for the file. It seems to be working great. However, I do have one question.

Im using both vertical and horizontal images. I have the gallery set up to be the size of my horizontal images. Is there any way I can center the images in the slideshow so the vertical images wont be left justified?

    Thank you.

  • Hello,
I’m very interested in your component. I think it has all the features I need but I do have a couple of questions to be sure:

    1) Can I specify the xml file to be used? The reason I ask is that I will build the xml file
dynamically using php so I’ll need to name it something like buildxml.php

    2) You state in your description that “You can add unlimited images [depends on width]” what does “depends on width” mean?

    Thanks
    Dan

  • @dantoneill

well, once you purchased this file email me and I will update this gallery for you to support flashVar for xml file. In this way you will be able to pass xml with any name you like.

yes this gallery can support unlimited images. depending on the width mean.. there is collection of small boxes or buttons at the right bottom of the gallery. let say if you load 100 images.. this collection of boxes width will exceed the the width of the gallery. and some of them will disappear. the solution is to set the width of the galley higher than the width of the buttons collection.
