Hi there,
My name is Stephen and I am creating a dance music website, from a functionality point of view creating pages, integration to SQL, designing how it works etc I have no problem at all.
I am lacking in skills such as you guys on here possess. I am after someone to get involved with the project. To give an idea of what it's all about:
Website containing profiles of Music Labels, DJ's, Producers etc and their followers, at present this community like many others use facebook but its crap for what I am going to be offering. Dedicated music players on the site (may need a bit of help with that) I already have several that I have implemented, rich text messaging, customised additional pages autocreated at profile sign-up. Wall posts on profiles rich text again. The site utilises the fact that these talented artist have their media at various places on the net and as such the site am designing puts all their music in one place (dedicated players linked to the media).
Anyway there is a lot more to it than that. The browse profiles page would utilise something like a 3D curve wall, clicking it would auto start music on their profile (already got that sorted) and then display their profile details, as each profile is viewed will remember that this has been viewed and when revisits the home page the ones already viewed would not be redisplayed etc but history stored.
I hope someone that has a keen interest in dance music is up for this challenge, payment - hmmm I have nothing to give, I am giving all my spare time to developing this, the goal is to offer the site for free and as such I will be investing my own money to support it. Long term once the site becomes operational then advertisers will come running to the project!
Imagine a website that is properly upto date with far more user functionality than FB and is geared purely for the Music Community. If the guys at facebook can do it then I see no reason why this cannot either.
Looking forward to hearing from you.. If a few of you are interested then get involved - I am very passionate about this and know that I cannot do it by myself.
Thank you
Stephen Armstrong-Smith
