  • Hi Snowcat,
    Is there a way to always show the tooltip like in your carousel script? - or at least show the tooltip as it autoscrolls?

  • Snowcat,

    Quick question. I purchased a corporate license but have a couple questions…

    1) If I dont mouse over the area for a while, then the first time I mouse over, the scroll will zoom to the left or right very very fast. After that it “calms down” and starts behaving. My settings are below.

    2) If I turn on auto scrolling it FLIES!!! I am not sure why even with the same settings on your demo on this site?!?!

    3) I saw someone else ask, but saw no answer….is there a way to make the tool tip permanent ly display below each image?

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Snowcat
    Thanks a lot for your flash.
    I bought the dock menu and I want to use it on my home page just to show some picture with autoscroll but without any interactivity. Is it possible to desactivate the move effects when the mouse is over the thnumbail.

    best regards,

  • lucas.roebuck,
    This feature is not implemented on this component. We noted this for a possible update.

    alavotre,
    For using special characters you’ll find here more explanations.

    penguin71,
    The zooming to left or right very fast is a component setting. When mouse is over, it moves items looking at mouse current position (wether left or right). You might want to lower the scrollSpeed to diminish this sensation.
    What do you mean by “it flies” when you turn on auto-scrolling?

    seti808,
    aproximatively 20 days, we will let you know.
    PS. send them again please.

    pellevoisin.caryotype.
    You could delete from images.xml the Tooltip tag for less interacivity.
    Or you could set rollOverBehavior to ‘none’ and play with settings in Scrolling Properties controller to adjust the movement effects the way you like.

  • Snowcat,

    By “it flies” I meant it goes blazing speed. Very fast. Seems to have something to do with the number of components/items. When I reduced the number of items to scroll it settled down.

    No big deal.

    Thanks.

    I wonder if you could help me we would like this file to be able to call a remote xml file of our choosing for the images and settings e.g. www.remotelocation.comfilepath/filepath/images.xml.

    It seems no matter what we enter into the xml path for these it just defaults to the original file path for these

    Cheers

    Also wondering whether you can package up the xml UI on the page above so we can use it ourselves

  • The follwing files must be on the remote server: dock menu SWF, images.xml, settings.xml and images folder.
    In the html file that embeds the SWF file you must specify the full path for the SWF file and also for settings.xml file.
    Here you find detailed explanations on how to set de full path.

  • Hello,

    I've got a strange problem occurring with the component. If I put it on the server (www.domain.com), I need to load images from images.domain.com. With the crossdomain.xml file, it will allow it, but the reflection does not work and the images are more blocky. If I put the flash file on images.domain.com and reference it in the page on www.domain.com, everything works perfectly and smoothly except for the links. They won't open anything from www.domain.com, even though it also has a crossdomain.xml on it. Could anyone let me know what's going on on either end? I really want the reflection and to be able to see high quality images, but I also need the link to work. Any help will be appreciated.

  • Make sure that in your images.xml at url attribute you set the link you desire to open.

    I don’t remeber someone to complain for having problems paying with credit card.
    It should work here. Also I want to mention that you can pay through PayPal using your account.

  • I would like to use your menuDock as a navigator menu inside my flash library, inside a multiple xml gallery with a single xml file like this one :
    How can i use it cause it seems the <dockmenu> tag has to be on first line ?
    <library> <gallery nom=“mesVideos1” libImage=“library-film.jpg” titre=“Activities” desc=“We are making professionnal images and films” date=“11/11/2009”> <dockmenu> <photo image=“images/01a.jpg” link=“maVideo1a” file=“http://my_streaming_serveur/straming-file1a.flv” </photo> <photo image=“images/02a.jpg” link=“maVideo2a” file=“http://my_streaming_serveur/straming-file2a.flv”</photo> <photo image=“images/03a.jpg” link=“maVideo3a” file=“http://my_streaming_serveur/straming-file3a.flv”</photo> <photo image=“images/04a.jpg” link=“maVideo4a” file=“http://my_streaming_serveur/straming-file4a.flv”</photo> <photo image=“images/05a.jpg” link=“maVideo5a” file=“http://my_streaming_serveur/straming-file5a.flv”</photo> </dockmenu> </gallery> <gallery nom=“mesVideos2” libImage=“activities-film.jpg” titre=“Expeditions” desc=“We organize all kinds of expeditions in places where wild animals can be filmed” date=“05/08/2009”> <dockmenu> <photo image=“images/01b.jpg” link=“maVideo1b” file=“http://my_streaming_serveur/straming-file1b.flv” </photo> and so on … </dockmenu> </gallery>
    </library>
    Thanks for solution
    Best regards

  • Sorry you can use only this xml structure: <dockmenu>..<photo ..></photo>... </dockmenu>
    in order to work. To use the one you specify would need modifications on the code.

    But you might use something like:

    Each images has a link to another gallery and so on, i.e.:

    <dockmenu>
    photo image=“images/01.jpg” link=“maVideo1” </photo>
    <photo image=“images/02.jpg” link=“maVideo2”</photo>
    <photo image=“images/03.jpg” link=“maVideo3” </photo>
    <photo image=“images/04.jpg” link=“maVideo4” </photo>
    <photo image=“images/05.jpg” link=“maVideo5”</photo>
    </dockmenu>

    Here you can use another dockmenu that has the follwing images.xml file:

    <dockmenu>
    photo image=“images/01a.jpg” link=“maVideo1a” ....</photo>
    <photo image=“images/01b.jpg” link=“maVideo1b”.....</photo>
    <photo image=“images/01c.jpg” link=“maVideo1c”..... </photo>
    <photo image=“images/01d.jpg” link=“maVideo1d” ....</photo>
    <photo image=“images/01e.jpg” link=“maVideo1e”......</photo>
    </dockmenu>

    So when you click on maVideo1 from the first dockmenu you go to another dockmenu that has links to maVideo1a, maVideo1b,...maVideo1e…

  • snowcat,
    can i have the browser window open in an specific size when you click on the images?

    #  /  posted on Dec 05, 2009
  • To open a new window you could use some javascript.
    In the images.xml file each photo tag has an attribute called url which has a different value:

    e.g.

     javascript:GroupDelegate('img1')

    This function, GroupDelegate, would be actually the function that we’ll use so when you click on a image it will open a new browser window of specified dimensions.
    Next we need to modify the number of the arguments for this function.
    This way you would be able to pass the specific size of the window.
    Let’s say we want the browser’s window to be of 400×500.
    Then the call of the function would look like this:
     javascript:GroupDelegate('images/01.jpg', 400,500)

    So far we have the call of the function GroupDelegate.
    Next we need to write this function in the html file and tell it to open a new browser window.

    In your html file that embeds the SWF file you’ll see the follwing script. This script actually embeds the SWF file.

     <script type="text/javascript">	var flashvars = {};
    	flashvars.settingsXML = "settings.xml";
    	var params = {};
    	params.scale = "noscale";
    	params.salign = "tl";
    	params.wmode = "transparent";
    	var attributes = {};
    	swfobject.embedSWF("dockmenu.swf", "DockMenuDiv", "600", "200", "9.0.0", false, flashvars, params, attributes);

    </script>

    So all we need to do is to declare the GroupDelegate function. We’ll declare this function beneath this line: swfobject.embedSWF(“carousel.swf”.......

     <script type="text/javascript">	var flashvars = {};
    	flashvars.settingsXML = "settings.xml";
    	var params = {};
    	params.scale = "noscale";
    	params.salign = "tl";
    	params.wmode = "transparent";
    	var attributes = {};
    	swfobject.embedSWF("dockmenu.swf", "DockMenuDiv", "600", "200", "9.0.0", false, flashvars, params, attributes);

    	function GroupDelegate(url,width,height)
           {
    	      window.open(url,"myWindow","width="+width+",height="+height);
           }

    </script>

  • I purchased this for commercial use a few days ago and it is great – I am wondering if there is anyway though to use the proper dimensions of the images for the thumbnails and mouse overs instead of everything being squares. I have changed the min/max thumbnails as well as adding width and height to the images.xml but nothing is changing it. Is there a way to do it?

    This feature is not implemented in the Dock Menu FX.
    But we released a while ago a new component called Image Scroller FX that has this feature.

    alessflash,

    Sorry we don’t provide the source files.
    Here you’ll find an article that explains why we don’t offer the source code.

  • Hi,

    First you’ll need to drag&drop on the stage from you Components window (Ctrl+F7) the DockMenu component. If the component DockMenu doesn’t appears in the Components window,
    you’ll need to install it using mxp file that is found in the commercial archive.
    Give an instance name to the DockMenu using Properties window (Ctrl+F3), for example: dockmenu.
    After that, create a new layer an call it actions. Open the actions panel (F9).
    Now you need to add the event listener that listens when you release a mouse click over the thumb.
    Write the follwing piece of code in your actions panel.
    AS3 version:

    dockmenu.addEventListener("thumbReleased", onReleased);

    Next write the function onReleased that treats this event:
    function onReleased(e:Event):void
    {
     var id:Number = e.currentTarget.id;
     gotoAndPlay(id);
    }

    AS2 version:

    dockmenu.addEventListener("thumbReleased", onReleased);function onReleased(e:Object):Void
    { gotoAndPlay(e.id);
    }

    Using this id you can play different frames from your flash project.
