That works perfect!! Thanks for your help and quick responses today!!
File is updated. Google changed output…
Please download version 2.3.
Thanks
I am using the monst recent file version 2.41. but I can not get it to work. I get Connection to the Google Can not be established at this time.
I have the proxy file on server that supports PHP and CURL
I have read through the forums I just cant get this to work and it is frustrating.
re aojuk : some hosts doesn’t allow filename “proxy”. Change proxy.php to weather.php (or something like that) and change proxy path in xml. Maybe your curl runs in safe mode?
Hi,
I’m trying to put this component within another swf and I can’t get it to load past the “google loading” screen. Any advice? Thanks in advance!
cmdsonline: please mail me your sample (and live link) -> djankey (at) gmail.com
I am sorry, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to this stuff but I have downloaded the file, placed the iGW.swf on my page, uploaded the entire contents of the download i got from you, called to make sure my host enabled curl, added the two cities I wanted in the xml file and all I get it a rather large box that says “Loading weather data” under the Google logo.

Please help.
Thanks
re htown: did you export swf or…? I can’t click on “settings” button…
“caurina” folder must be in same folder as .fla (when editing .fla)
All the files have been uploaded. I have a folder called WEATHER inthe root of the web site and everything that I downloaded from you has been placed in the WEATHER folder in it’s original structure.
Please help!!!
I have downloaded the file, placed the iGW.swf on site, uploaded the entire contents of the download i got from you, and IT“S NOT WORKING FOR ME. When i test SWF file in my folder it works but when place the swf in my page i getc it a large box that says “Loading weather data” under the Google logo.
compusystems : your host must support php (curl enabled). Please mail me djankey (at) gmail (dot) com
I’m really striking out with these Flash components. 2nd weather component, 2nd failure. I put the swf, xml and php file in a directory on my site. I just get Loading Weather. I changed proxy to weatherproxy.php.
Curl Settings are: ‘—with-curl=shared’ ‘—with-curlwrappers’
cURL support enabled
cURL Information libcurl/7.15.5 OpenSSL/0.9.8g zlib/1.2.3 libidn/0.6.10
Not working. Also nothing happens when I click on the Settings in the flash.
@sday: did you change and php link in xml file?
Please mail me djankey (at) gmail.com
Thanks for all the help. Got it working. As mentioned in the email, my implementation was with Mediawiki, and the flash container was forcing the component into a different working directory which caused the loading of the .xml file to fail.

One other point of interest for others who may run into problems. If you cannot click on the “Settings” tab, the component is not loading the .xml file. (according to djankey)
Hello, This is working fine for me from my computer, however when I put it on either of two of my web servers (FatCow, TechArk) it can’t connect to Google. Running php 5 and curl is enabled. I get the “Can’t establish connection…” screen. I have defined the URL’s to the xml and proxy.php as absolute URL’s and when testing from my computer can use the xml and proxy.php files that are on my web server. Any Ideas? If I can get this running I’ll be buying a commercial license.
Thanks,
MT
Hi Mark,
some hosts doesn’t allow filename “proxy.php”
Rename proxy.php to weather.php (or something similar) and change path in xml file
Maybe curl runs in safe mode?

Can i use this component for my client website. Do i need to buy any type of license from google to display it.
After buying the component, can i use the component for my client’s website. Do i need to buy any other license from google.
Hi,
Great file, love it :)
Just one question. How do u remove the space between Wind and Humidity?
If u look at the widget display, u know what I mean.
Thank You.
re andy.tate: XML path is incorrect. For Wordpress page is best to set absolute xml path not relative. By default xml should be in same folder as html (php) file in which swf is embeded. Change xml path in flash source file (.fla) and then export new swf… Oh and you should do the same with proxy path (it can be changed in xml file).
Thank you
Works fine thanks.
Any chance of a version with a location search?
