  Hello all,
  fairly new here and wondering about Joomla working with AS2 photo gallery & nav files. Can it only work with AS3? I have many components both old and NEW which a developer is informing me that none will work with Joomla if they are not done with AS3 XML only. Is this true & does this mean that all files are now an outdated waste? Any thoughts are much appreciated on how I can salvage materials.

  Not true.

  There is no correlation between Joomla! and Flash other than you need to know how to implement Joomla's file hierarchy in your flash to make sure that paths are correct.

  Your developer needs to learn a few new tricks as well as get a bit more familiar with Joomla!.
