  • Hey all,

As a result of the messages we’ve received from you guys regarding file updates, we’re letting you know that we’ve finally added the feature you asked for.

From now on, buyers will receive in email notifications regarding file updates the exact things that were updated to a file. When an author updates a file, he will specify exactly what was modified so that the buyer knows what to look for when he re-downloads it.

This makes it easier for all of us: the author writes a message with what he has modified to the file and then the buyer is notified of the changes or new features that were added. Honestly, this saves everybody time so we’re happy we’ve included it on FC.

For more details on how this works, follow these links:

If you have other suggestions on how to improve our marketplace, go ahead and leave a comment below. Thanks.

  • @flashblue: You can explain if you've added a new effect, or added a new feature - detail what the feature is about, so that the buyer knows if he should re-download the archive or not.

Also, we mentioned in the informational text about the File Updates that: "if you don’t fill in the Description of the file update text box with the update you’ve made, then the buyer will not be notified." So, if you think the changes you've made to the file are just to fix some things or is something minor, just don't fill in the box and that's it.

It's not compulsory to do so, but if the update is major and it would be beneficial for the buyer, then you should mention that. It can be a simple message such as: "I've updated this file, fixed some bugs so please re-download the updated archive."

Let us know if you have other questions/ concerns.
