    Powerful Flash Multimedia Gallery XML

    Is there a limit to the number of images this gallery can hold? I can load 73 image and no more. If I add more at the top of the list in the xml, the others below it remain in the xml, but are not visible in the flash gallery on my website. Yes, I am uploading all images and uploading & overwriting the config.xml file each time.

  • Overall it's a really nice gallery - though i need your assistance.

    I've tried to insert .jpg's converted into .f4v format for the main view area and strangely they play in the viewer only locally but not when placed on a server. Videos in .flv and work great.

    Since I tested it - the main view area can not preview .jpgs only video formats so that is why I converted the still to .f4v.

    Any quick fix or suggestions?

  • Make sure that the extension is not in uppercase , your local operating system is not case sensitive but the server is.

  • Is it possible to make the thumbnails a specific size or any size I want? As well as configure how many thumbs display in each row?

    thanks

  • @earthjiber

    Yes you can change the thumb size. About the rows that is made automatically by the code, there is some really cool math behind the row positioning!

  • Thanks for this component...it works extremely well. I'm using this component to do an awards presentation, and I have two questions:

    1. Is there a way we can use the keyboard's arrow keys to navigate from image to image instead of the arrow buttons on the side of the screen? If so, can we also hide the arrow buttons?

    2. Is there a way to hide the "image list" button at the top of the gallery once the first image is selected?

    Thanks in advance.

    I am sorry but it is not possible as it is now. I could add keyboard support, If you are interested contact me at [email protected]

  • I really like this gallery - congratulations on work well done. I need to know if it is possible to create a simple navigation to access 'sub directories of images' i.e.: instead of having 100+ images all in one folder - manage them with categories. That would be totally awesome and make an extreme superior gallery presentation for artists that have several subject. Your gallery is the only one that is able to show large image plus the enlarge/zoom feature.

    I have used for a long time SSP gallery, but the enlargement is still cumbersome - ergo, am looking at your beautiful gallery.

    Of course, I know, I can simply create several pages with each for a subject gallery - but integrating this in to your gallery would be the ultimate.

    I understand what you mean but the only way to do this is with code changes and something like this it is not easy to do.

  • Is it possible to control the number of images displayed per page? For example, I would like to display 9 images per page ( 3 rows and 3 columns) and have several linked pages.

  • @wchurch\

    This is not possible because the gallery is resizable and it will change the number of rows and columns based on the embed window with and height.

  • Can this be embedded in Joomla? I notice sometimes you say so and sometimes you dont.

    All my files can be embedded in Joomla, you can see a quick tutorial below.

  • It took me all night to get this to work but I finaly did it and I must say this is very good. I had to move the config.xml file out of the load folder and put it one directry up and change one small thing in index.html from this:

    so.addVariable("xml_path","load/config.xml");

    To this:

    so.addVariable("xml_path","config.xml");

    I run Windows Server 2003 with IIS and I am not sure if that has to do with anything so I'd figure I'd post incase anyone else had this same problem.

  • How can I change the background bg color?

    Also, how I can add a background image instead of using a bg color, this is feasible?

    I'm not sure if I will go with a bg color or background image at the moment, can you provide the solution for both please?

  • I am trying to use this with flash. The thumbs show perfectly in the gallery, but when I click on them to open them to full size, It tries to open it as a video?????

    #  /  posted on Nov 23, 2011
  • @quadrantg

    I think this is happening because you have a video added for that thumb, make sure that you have a .jpg file for the thumb and big image path.

    #  /  posted on Nov 23, 2011
  • No, I removed all of your demo videos and all of my images are jpg. It trys to open every thumb as a video. I also disabled all of the video player functions.

  • Make sure that the .jpg extension is lowercase.
