• Hi

    I have bought this great component for a new project. I left it on the page running and went away for a short while and noticed the IE was consuming a lot of memory whilest this page was open.

    I have isolated the flash away from the code to be sure, and the result is the same. At one point and page was using 500Mb of memory. The page started around 50Mb in this instance of iexplorer.exe

    Please help to resolve this, as it is a great looking component!

  • Great file, but yes, I‘m seeing the same thing. After a few minutes, the pictures get jerky, slow down and eventually the browser comes to halt. I see this happening in both IE6, IE7 and Firefox. Same result.

    It looks great on the page, for sure, but if there is a solution to the bogging down situation, please advise.

  • Hi,
    I’m not a big pro in Flash, but am able to tweak things in this program. My question is: where is this FlashVars: xmlfile=path/filename.xml located? The gallery works within the same folder where xml and fla files are, but if I try adding it to my index page obviously outside this folder I think it’s missing the correct path to the XML file.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Change that line in index.html:

    var flashvars = {};

    to:

    var flashvars = {xmlfile=“path/filename.xml”};

    #  /  posted on Apr 29, 2009
  • Sorry!

    To that:

    var flashvars = {xmlfile:“path/filename.xml”};

  • OK, and that’s where I’m running into a problem. The code I have is: (generated automatically by Dreamweaver when I poin it to the swf file)

    And I also refecence these two lines in the in the head sesction of the index page:

    I have also tried copying the code from the gallery.html page with no luck – it didn’t have that line you’re referring to within its code eather)

    I have scanned it multiple times and don’t see var flashvars = {};
    Thanks for your help

  • I bought & downloaded this today and it looks great but I’m still getting the memory problem. Seems like the images are not unloading? Would really appreciate help with this as i’ve never used flash before and it’s otherwise perfect for what I’m doing!

    Thanks

  • If I don’t supply a name and description, the background of the name and description still fly out. Is there a way to disable the display of the name and/or description in the XML? Something like:

My Description

<target>_blank</target>

  • Is there a setting in the xml file that allows you to right-align the text when it flies out?

  • No.

  • Dear Flashblue

    This nice looking component has a memory problem that eventually kills FF and IE browsers.

    Please either rectify the problem or remove the component from flashcomponents.net

    If the problem cannot be rectified, then surely the 28 customers who have bought the component are entitled to a refund?

    I look forward to hearing from you

  • Great component,

    If I use browser-zoom (IE, Chrome), the html-page zooms in/out, the swf not.
    Is it possible to zoom the swf with the page.

    Thanks,
    Vincent

  • No. You can’t zoom SWF files with fixed width-height.

  • Is there a way to hide the "1","2","3" buttons? If not, could it be added?

    Also, the readme file says "You can change button size, text colors by "button_mc"." Could you please give an example of changing the size & color with this? I don't understand where this variable is placed, or how it is set.

    Thanks!

  • button_mc is in FLA source. If you send me a private message about it, I can hide buttons.

  • Hello, can I change the position and the the direction of fly in effect of the title and description?

    #  /  posted on Jan 21, 2011
  • It's timeline based. You can change it from FLA source. Open FLA library. Select gallery / content / content_mc movieclip to modify it.

    If you can't do it send me PM with details.
