  • Is there any way to add colored “dots” to designate cities on the map? I have tried, but the dots remain the same color as the map.

    Thanks

  • hi Paul
I’ve sent you email with the answer. Here is short answer: it’s possible, but better result can be achieved modifying flat (not 3D) globe, which you can find: here

  • Thanks cesgra!

I saw from your example that it is possible, but i still dont understand how. I dont need the locations to be very precise — i just need to add dots that keep their color.

    THanks again.

  • Hi Jerry,
I can only suggest you to google for the solution to this specific problem.

  • Do you have this with actionscript code so we do not need the FLA to use?

    #  /  posted on Jan 20, 2011
  • Wormss, I'm not sure exactly what do you mean? Actionscript is embedded in the FLA.

  • I bought a previous version of your spinning earth globe and was able to get it going with a transparent background. Unfortunately, I am unable to get this version to have a transparent background. Can you give me any suggestions on this?

    #  /  posted on Jan 31, 2011
  • I should mention that I've tried the following only to get a black background:

    var bckgroundColor = "Transparent"; var bckgroundGradientColor = "Transparent";

and I've set wmode to transparent as well.

  • hi Derek Bruyere,

these variables you are trying to define are only for color and not for transparency. it's good idea to do so! :) as for now, do it like this:

    • First step: Open FLA file, delete (or Guide) "bg" and "bg.gradient" layers from movieclip named "globe_mc" and export the new SWF
    • Second step: edit HTML file, change "wmode" variable from "window" to "transparent". Save it. That's it :-)

  • Excellent. Thanks.

  • how can i make the background transparent?

    #  /  posted on Mar 08, 2011
  • Transparent globe

    * First step: delete "bg" and "bg.gradient" layers from movieclip named "globe_mc" and export the new SWF.
    * Second step: edit HTML file, change "wmode" variable from "window" to "transparent". Save it. That's it :-)

Note: For the first step you must have flash editing software. For the second any text editor will do.

  • Hi, I'm having some problem here: I've edited the parameters in the action-script in globe_mc, but it doesn't have any effect - how do I confirm these changes?

    #  /  posted on Jan 25, 2012
  • One quick note: if you change the code (actionsript), the changes will be visible only in exported SWF file, not in the Flash Edting environment.

  • I just purchsed and was able to place in powerpoint 2010. I'm totally lost with respect to changing attributes. I do not understand the instruction: "In Library panel go to movieclip named "globe_mc"

Where is the library panel? Is this something in Powerpoint or something in the "Main" folder I downloaded? I can not find the movieclip named globe_mc
