Hi, just downloaded this and it won’t play. I open the index_pro in Firefox and it simply freezes. Any thoughts?

For security reasons, SpringPlayer will not play files from a local drive. Ensure that you have posted the extracted archive to a web server and access the player that way.
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at SpringPlayer()
at SpringPlayerFree_2_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
That might be the reason of the freeze... !?
Hi,
I just bought this. It doesnt seem to work with rtmp. I changed the url in the index_pro.html file to “rtmp://myurl/to/red5” and it does show any thing.
Waht is wrong?
@mreyes
The RTMP implementation in SpringPlayer has currently been tested with FLV & MP4/H.264 content using Wowza 1.5/1.6 and Adobe FMS 3.0/3.5. It’s also been tested with plain FLV’s using Red5 0.7.1.
For Red5, ensure that you’re not using H.264 or any other codec not currently supported with RTMP. These are not scheduled to be included in Red5 until a 0.9 release. Also, as of this writing, the latest Red5 release (0.8) has not been tested.
Also, you may want to turn on debug in Red5 to see what the actual error is when the player is loaded.
On some FLV files, the player stops abruptly before the video is finished. Is there any way to prevent this?
@erobirds – I haven’t heard of/seen this issue before. Send me a private message letting me know how you are playing the videos (rtmp streaming, pseudo-streaming or progressive download) and the URL’s to the videos you’re attempting to play and I’ll take a look.
You can send a private message from the following URL:

@6000rpms – My apologies…the f4v was getting corrupted when I converted it to flv. I tested in a couple of different players and experienced the same issue.
Great player, by the way. Very easy to use and implement!
Hi, Can you have multiple players on a page with this? And has it been tested with MP4's? I have noticed most of the FLV players on here claim to play MP4's but suggest using FLV's because of the long buffering and metadata issues.
Please Advise Thanks!
Yes, it's possible to have multiple players on the page at the same time. Just make sure to give each player a unique id when embedding.
SpringPlayer was designed to playback MP4 content first and foremost. So yes, it supports H.264 (AVC) video and AAC audio. When point releases are issued, MP4 content is always tested with progressive downloading and Wowza and Flash Media Servers. So whatever your delivery method, SpringPlayer should work. Buffer time has little to do with the container type (MP4 vs FLV), but does vary depending on the codec and the parameters used during the encoding process.
Hi, Thanks for answering my 1st question so quickly. I just purchased and downloaded this, but it does not contain any instructions. I'm sure I can figure things out if I play around with the index_pro.html but I would move faster with some instructions. Would it be possible to have those emailed to me at mrtbrownsr @ aol.com
Thanks!
I have 2 questions: 1. Is it possible to hide or autohide the control bar on the bottom via XML? 2. Is it possible to autoplay a video?
@mikeburroughsdesi
This player was designed so that the controls would always be visible. But yes, you can set the video to auto play.
I have version v2.03 and I was wondering if it is possible to show a still of a frame as the play screen instead of a black play screen. Example: first frame so there is an image for people to click on.
