Hi there,
I like very much the design and apparent easy of use of this file, but I found some problems I can’t resolve. I already sent a couple of emails to the address you provide on the “READ ME” file, but since I’m on a rush, I will write the problems here, as well.
I managed to edit most of the fields in a copy of your file and it works fine (no links yet). However, when I placed the “VerticalMenu mc” in my project, I get these messages in the “COMPILER ERRORS TAB”:
Description :
1119: Access of possibly undefined property mask_mc through a reference with static type menu:MainMenu.
Source :
pos+=curMenu.mask_mc.height + curMenu.mainmenu_mc.height; //update the position for next menu
And:
Description :
1119: Access of possibly undefined property mainmenu_mc through a reference with static type menu:MainMenu.
Source :
pos+=curMenu.mask_mc.height + curMenu.mainmenu_mc.height; //update the position for next menu
I placed all the files that came with your VerticalMenu in the same FOLDER where my FLA is. I also placed there a copy of your original file, which is the one I used to test and drag from the Library.
While waiting for your reply, I used your guidelines on the “read me” file to edit the xml, and used this statement: frameLabel=“myLabel” (of course with the labels in my FLA’s timeline), since that is how I am loading the different pages of my projects, but I get the following message in the “OUTPUT” tab this time (still in the copy of your FLA file):
TypeError : Error #1090: XML parser failure: element is malformed. at menu::Main/xmlListener() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()
I guess the way to fix these problems may be in the .as files, but I’m a designer; not a programmer and frankly, I thought your file was easier to use, since in the website it shows “Flash Knowledge Required: N/A”.
As I said before, I’m behind on this project and really need to have this done, hence I’ll appreciate your prompt reply and help. Thank you much for your understanding. Take care,
Nomar

@ademus,
sorry , not possiblePosted 6 months ago # -
Hi. I bought this nav and it does work great, although you really have to hack it up to get just the window part of it without the background layers. But anyway, it’s working great. I am wondering how I can make the menus highlight which page it’s currently within the nav? Thank you.

I understood ‘Unlimited menus as well as submenus’ to mean many levels were possible with this component. I need at least three levels, possibly four. Boontaran I will be more than happy to try the ‘AS3 Tree Menu’ but I would like to get my money back on this one first. How do I do that?
