  Then it’s the case not written in the readme.
  You need to open vertical_menu.as
  Then go to the line 43. There you’ll find commented/disabled code with slashes. Change the line to this for example:

  
  

  menuCurrent = “1”;

  
  

  It will highlight the first menu item.

  I had to edit the regions in the xml file. I couldn't edit any of the buttons in flash. That being said it works but when I put it in my dreamweaver page it doesn't show up.

  Yes! I saved the file as an swf file and inserted it in my web page but it doesn't show up when I view it in my web browser. What am I doing wrong?

  I don't know what you have modified so far. Please check if you have correct flash embedding code in HTML file. Additionally you can send me all the files and i'll have a look.
