Question: I need to store the .swf files, .xml files, etc. and other supporting files (including images) in a directory other than the directory where the html page lives. Can this be done with the demo version so that I can confirm the functionality?

Hi,
Sure can be done but you need to specify absolute paths to swf, images, xml etc instead relative paths everywhere. An absolute path to a resource is similar to http://www.yoursite.com/etc/yourmovie.swf
For xml file you need to use FlashVars to specify the path. To learn more about using FlashVars check questions 7,8 and 21 on the FAQ area at:

Hello,
I recently bought the accordion but I have a problem. I would like to have a bigger menu? Is it possible to change the overall size of the accordion so that it is larger then 600x350? When I change the settings in AS3 the movie doesn't work any more.
Thanx
Greg

Hi Greg,
To modify the size of the component, you need to edit the sizes in your html file along with the sizes in the settings xml file.
If you can pm me a link I can highlight what you need to modify.

Hi, I would like to edit the .fla & .as classes, I am experienced in flash-development, but I can't seem to get it working. If I open and export the .fla (without changing anything) this is what I get: http://pedaci.de/geheimlabor/accordion/accordion.html
Help is greatly appreciated, I need this for a commercial project.
Thank you
Peter

Hi Peter,
To get rid of that error simply export the FtScrollBar for action script.
(Ctrl+L -> Assets folder -> scrollBar folder -> right click FtScrollBar -> Properties -> Check Export for ActionScript)

Links: It's a great component and very flexible. But I can't get the links to work - either the a-tag links or the link-tags. If I try with the demo from scratch the links doesn’t work here either. What is the problem?
Thank you Petra

Hi,
Do you have a pop-up blocker active?
Try changing the target to "_self" and see if it works then.

Purchased the X-Treme Accordian product and love it! I'm amazed at how much you know about Flash (and everything related) and how little I know! But you're making me look good!
I was wondering if there's any way to have an .swf file where the image goes. Instead of just a static image I'd like to have a simple slide show playing. Any way to do that?

Hi,
You should be able to replace the images with swf files (simply type in the path to the swf inside the src attribute). There may be some issues if the swfs are action scripted.
If you encounter any problems send me a private message explaining what went wrong and I'll try to fix it.

so now I receive this:
Our support will contact you as soon as they can. As you can see the accordion product is successfully used by many customers so the fact that you don't maybe understand some things it's not a refund case. The product is fully functional and does exactly what the description and features list states.I noticed ALL those customers have ZOOM IN/ ZOOM OUT problem... and if you try to go into .FLA file to insert action script to not allow swf to rescale... you can't export the file, or the exported file doesn't work right... so I'm waiting to see what their tech support says... should be an easy answer since SO MANY people purchased it.

Hi,
I've sent you a message. You can send me a pm or directly email me.
If the issue you're experiencing is regarding the "starting point" text flashing, the fix is simple, just export the FtScrollBar for action script (ctrl+L -> Assets folder -> scrollBar folder -> right click FtScrollBar -> Properties -> check export for Action Script).
I'm sorry that you're upset, but we can't be available 24/7.

I recently purchased the unlimited license for the whole package. I love your work. However I'm fairly new to flash. Had been using MS SL etc. I would like to use the accordian in a Dreamweaver project that I'm working on. Is there some where that I can find a process synopsis? I'm actually wondering if I can just more or less place the pkg. into into DW after adjusted the necessary XML parameters and what additional changes would be needed. Thanks in advance. I'm very excited about the possibilities.

Hi Again,
I posted a question earlier today about the Accordian. As of now it's still the last post. In response I received a pm that was addressed to me , but entirely blank. There were no comments or instructions with it. I thught it might be your way of letting me know that the post had been read. But, since that was 4 or 5 hours ago, I thought I'd post again to ask. Please help me to understand the purpose of the blank pm and perhaps the status of my original post. Thanks.

Hi,
You should be able to just import the swf in you dreamweaver project, but, until you upload it to a webserver, I can't really tell if it will be error free (I'm expecting some file-path issues).
Remember that if you place the xml in a different folder than the html file that includes the swf, you will need to use FlashVars to link to them. Something like "setupXML=path/to/settings.xml&contentXML=path/to/content.xml". Also, remember that all relative urls (including the ones in the xmls) are relative to the html file that includes the swf, and not the swf file.
In case you haven't used FlashVars before, it's just a html property/attribute like wmode or bgcolor - so make sure you set it when you include the swf.
You can pm me if you have further questions.
Best regards,
FlashTuning Support
