  • two questions…

Is it possible to get rid of the scroll bar area w/ the comments?

Is the size/dimensions of the video flexible, i.e. if I get rid of the scroll bar area can the area then be used to fit a more TV-shaped video?

  • You can set the descriptionBoxScrollViewAreaHeight and descriptionBoxScrollAlpha to zero from within the xml configuration file. You can edit the .fla source file and edit the video window size and align any other graphic elements any way you like.

  • Does it support a focus or marker on the thumbnail to show which video one is on ?
I need that before I can buy.

  • Hi,
I am trying to render this video application inside of a preexisting flash project. I need to change the location of the video application so that in corresponds with the design of my flash project. how can I change the normal display of all the components, so that they render in a specified or placed position on the stage.

  • Hi,

The content is automatically centering itself. If you don’t want this centering edit the player clip / go to the ReadMe layer and look for the moveBoxes() method and comment the code inside.

Edit the configuration xml file and change the itemsX / itemsY and thumbsX / thumbsY parameter values . Or you can comment / remove these parameter lines from xml if you want to manually adjust the elements postion within Flash

  • Hi,

We were wondering if there was a means to remotely control the video playback in your component.

What we want to do is create links on the same web page that hosts your component. When clicked, these links would activate/interupt the video player and cause it to play a specific video. There may be multiple links - each programmed to start a different video in the gallery.

  • HI,

You can do this by creating a javascript function to cmmunicate with the Flash (swf ) object and vice versa.

In AS3, you have a fully functional API that uses the ExternalInterface class ( you can read in Adobe docs more about this or there are many examples on the net ).

The video clip thumbs inside Flash are named using the p0, p1, p2 etc naming convention.

Edit the .fla file in Flash / edit the thumbnailsMenu clip / go to the ReadMe and look for the pressHandler(mc) method this is the main function called when you press a video thumbnail.

You need to make a similar call to this method when clicking your html links through javascript.

  • Great player. I've been able to modify it for our site easily except for one thing. Is it possible to hide or remove the category drop down box in the upper right corner? I removed it in Flash but it broke the player and wouldn't load the videos then. Is there another way (e.g. through the XML file)?

    Thanks, Rob
