I’m familar with how to make the background transparent in wmode but, how do you get the button to change locations when your on a different page. Example: If you clicked on “Contact” that when the page changed the button would stay on contact.
I understand how to do that when your using Flashvars but, when i’m using that, I don’t know how to make the background transparent.
If you could let me know have I can have transparent background using Flashvars option or let me know if there’s a way to have the button change pages and stay on that page using the generated html.

Definitely excellent stuff!!!!!!
Everything seem to be customizable from the html or the xml file.
You select the menu style by specifying one of the preformated xml files supplied (you’re supplied with 5 separate files one for each style).
you don’t have to edit the fla to change the dimensions of the swf file.
For colours: the sky is the limit.
I’m sayig this because I bought it already..but I think it’s worth more than $5!
Ante, one question though .. can sound be added?

Excellent stuff for my website, only one question.
I am Latvian, can UTF-8 or anything else could be used to change characters of the font?
I need signs Ž ? ? ? ? :( :(

Dear djankey,
I changer all xml files to utf-8 and deleted my site cache and my browser cache to see the resutlts but when I type “žigulis” or “??bi?a” in menu files it is shown as “igulis” “cibina” and so on.
Maybe if you have files allready changed to accept all utf-8 chars you can e-mail me them to my e-mail horninc@gmail.com ;)

open source (.fla). Then open flash library (CTRL+L). Doubleclick on moviclip “text field” inside folder “XML Tweened Menu”. Select all (CTRL+A) and then change font type in properties panel. Export swf (File>Export>Export Movie…)

Does anyone know how to shrink the overall size of this menu? I like the menu very much except it is 300px high i need it to be about 75px high? I have tried for several hours to figure out the solution but still cannot. PLEASE HELP!

I purchased “XML Tweened Menu” and I am having difficulty putting the menu in my HTML page. I have created a directory in my website called “flash”, in that directory I have created a directory named “MainNav” and copied the contents of the “XML Tweened Menu” directory into the “MainNav directory. What am I doing wrong? What files or links do I need to change to make the correct path for all supporting files?

The “index.html” file found in the “deploy” folder works, but when I try to place the menu in my own html file I get a “xml could not be loaded” error or nothing at all shows up.
(please see previous post for more detail).

Hi There,
I purchased the XML Tweened Menu and be very happy with it … its great!
now i got one little problem:
I use the menu to call functions to jump to different positions in the timeline.
But now i got a single own button, which jumps as well to one of the menu positions.
I was wondering if there is a function i can call, to let the menu “follow” ... to let the menu jump to another “case” without pressing the menus buttons.
I hope described clear enough my problem, and would be very thankful for every help.

Well, I posted my question weeks ago, emailed the developer directly and have still not received an answer. I realize this is just a $5 component and I think it is great if I could get it working on my site. But I guess because it is only $5 component the developer does see any reason to help out with these issues. I will not purchase any more components created by this developer. Thanks for nothing!

ghhyatt: your xml path is incorect. Change xml path to “MainNav/menu.xml” not only “menu.xml”.
When flash is embeded into html page it will “look” for xml (path) from html page not swf. That is common mistake with new flash users…

djankey, thanks for your help and response. I am still unable to get the XML data to load.
Can you please explain the process of adding this Flash component to a HTML page?
This is what I am doing:
1. Copied the “Deploy” directory to a directory in my site called “mainNav” which is nested in a directory named “flash”
2. Added the javascript tag in the head of my HTML page:<script type=“text/javascript” src=“flash/mainNav/deploy/js/swfobject.js”></script>
3. 4. When I view the page I see the black area (”#000000”) that should contain the XML Tweened content but nothing but a black area is displayed. At one point it did produce an error in the black area stating “Could not load XML data” (something like that).
5. I have uploaded everything to the server and I have tried for hours to change the code paths to no avail.
Please advise.

Hi I just bought this menu I really like the design but I can’t see yet in my page. I must say I have problems imbedding the swf in my page. It says it can load xml data…Where do I put the swf and the xml? in the same file?
