I’m actually able to get them to show up if I alter lines 164 and 165 to:


get(my_acc[i]).buton.createTextField(“titlu”,1,0,0,menuItemWidth,menuItemHeight); get(my_acc[i]).buton.titlu._rotation=0;


This removes the rotation and changes the y-axis value to 0, rather than making the y-axis match the menuItemWidth (which you have in there twice). So the text is there, it’s just not displaying if you put any rotation on it or if you use the menuItemWidth value as your y axis value. I hope this helps with troubleshooting – I’m not able to figure out how to make it rotate and place itself into the proper position so that it shows up! : (

Sorry, Snowcat, but I cannot locate the “problem I talked about earlier” you mention. The menu text does not show up when the horizontal is set to “true” – can you please advise?

If I have an swf instead of an image can i have the click mouse action for that selection trigger an action in that swf instead?

I think I have figured it out, linking to a swf instead of an html and target as a level. Would there be any way to have this trigger an action instead? to go to a frame instead of link to a file?

Is there any way you can trigger an event in the swf of the selected item when selected? What I’m trying to do is trigger audio to start and text comes up over the image separate to each item.

douglaspaul, you don’t have to be a Flash developer to embed a SWF file into HTML. That code you have written is wrong (and you should be carefull with spelling accordion – a thing like that could indeed spoil everything)
You could read some documentation on SWFobject to see how to embedd a SWF into HTML, or you could simply read the HTML file which Flash generates when publishing the SWF file with Shift+F12

I don’t usually do this, but I think one problem could be the fact that the code was written using _root all over the place. You could try removing all appearances of “_root.” (without the quotes) in the code (using Ctrl+F, type _root. in the first field, leave the second empty, and hit Replace all)

Sorry to be a pest – one other trouble I’m having is using a different .swf to call the accordian into a Movie Clip. It’s automatically expanding the Movie Clip in which it is loading. I am loading other .swf files into the same screen without the same effect. Can you enlighten me on why it might be doing this, and how I can prevent it from happening? This is a critically important portion of how I’m using this component. Thanks!

When the horizontalAccordian is set to true, for some reason the menuItemText does not show up. I have tried all sorts of different settings and cannot get it to show up. I really don’t want to have to make graphics for all of these. Can you please advise?
