To set a custom font for your banner, open the .fla file for editing. From the library, double click "mText". You should see in your work area some blue dynamic text that says "test". Simply select this dynamic text box by left clicking with the black arrow tool selected. In the Properties area, change the font to any you like, and then press the "Embed..." button (also in the Properties area). You can choose what you want to embed, but I'd reccomend at least lowercase and uppercase letters. Embedding more will definately affect your file size.

You must repeat these procedures for the library item called "dText" as well. (note that "mText" and "dText" are the dynamic text boxes used for multi-line and single-line display types, respectively.)

To set a custom size for your banner, open the .fla file for editing. Right click anywhere on your main work area and choose "Document Properties" and set the "Dimensions" as you see fit. There is no need to touch anything else, just publish the .swf and save the .fla if you so desire. (It's reccomended to keep a backup in case something gets messed up).

This banner is designed to be used with minimal .fla file editing. Included with this file are several .swf files preset to several common web banner sizes. If your desired size is not listed, follow instructions in the section titled "Changing the Banner Size" below.

A note on fonts: This file depends heavily on dynamic text, and is by default using the Arial font, which is embedded in the movie. You may use any font you like, but you must follow instructions in the section titled "Changing the Banner Font" below.

-- IMPORTANT! --
----------------

This banner is controlled using the config.xml, and this file won't work properly without it. The config.xml file should reside in the same folder as your .swf file. Edit config.xml with Notepad or other text editor. The xml file contains instructions for setting up the banner.

AttentionGrabbingBanner 1.0 is a quick way to generate an effective, eye-catching banner ad for display on websites. This file is very easy to use, but highly customizable via an included XML file. You don't even need to edit the .fla file! I've included several .swf presets for different common web banner sizes.

You can change the word or words for each "Phrase" in your web banner's text message, you may also choose whether each "Phrase" displays single-line (with slightly bigger text) or multi-line (with slightly smaller text). Of course, you can easily modify the background color and the text color, add some eye-catching flashes, and you can choose from two display types: fast or slow.

For example, the sample .swfs included have 4 "phrases" that are "single-line" and "fast", and a 5th "phrase" that is "multi-line" and "slow".

The banner is organized into a single movie clip in case you need to drag and drop it into your own project, but
it's designed to be used on its own. You may modify the font or customize the banner size, but these changes require some .fla file editing.

Note that the MX 2004 version does not have the slight gradient which adds a little depth to the background of the banner.

Also note that the smallest useable size is 160x160px.
