Besides posting here I see you contacted FlashComponents telling this product is not really what it claims to be. "Very easy to use and set" is indeed. You need a basic Flash knowledge to do that. And this is what this site is selling, products which open and edit with Flash. You really don't need to be an expert to apply a mask. There are lots of tutorials out there which shows you how to apply a mask in case you didn't know what you were buying. The most basic tutorial which shows you how to apply a mask shouldn't have more than 3 steps.
The Actionscript code sample you referred is indeed a simple example for those who have a basic Actionscript knowledge, but again, you really don't need Actionscript to apply masks. The example is for those who better like making use of code instead of apply masks on the timeline.
