Side XML Template Photography with Color Theme
This is an ActionScript 3.0 XML driven Flash template. You can see another version of this template visiting Side Mobile Website.
No Flash knowledge required for setting up this Flash template. Everything can be set from a main .xml file and also each gallery has its own .xml file making it very easy to update and maintain.
This product can be embedded in WordPress, Joomla or any kind of HTML content.
This XML template it's resizable adjusting after the browser size. This means that everything will look the same on each resolution and your photos will appear the same for all your visitors.
This product also includes the source files.
Template Features
- You can set the color theme in the main XML file for the entire template, it can be any color you like, this makes this Flash template really useful
- You can set the author (photographer) name in the main XML file and the menu will adjust based on that
- Panning support for the big images, this can be disabled or enabled in the main XML file
- The template is resizable, so everything will resize based on the screen resolution, adjusting the size of each piece of the template based on the resolution without distortion. Resize the browser after the template is loaded in order to understand better this feature
- You don't need to know any code, all is configured with external XML files.
- The option to add as many galleries as you need and also to label them as you like, including the Contact&Bio button
- .mp3 sound playing in the background (this can be disabled in the main XML file)
- External url links as menu buttons this can be done in the main xml file, no need to change the code
- The 'Contact&Bio' window and button can be removed
- Browsing in the gallery is made really easy
- The code is written in ActionScript 3.0, this means that the performance is greatly improved in comparison with AS 2.0.

I think you recompiled the .fla there is not need to do that!
Download again the .zip file and use the original .swf file I think this will fix your issue, also when you test the template test it with the index.hmlt provided , do not test directly the .swf file.

I am looking at a few of your gallery/portfolio options, but I have a couple of questions on this one. How much control is there over the menu without using Flash? I am wondering about moving it's position and changing the color scheme of the buttons? I want to move the menu further up or down...somewhere away from the center.

I finished putting everything together and it works when I load it from "index.html", but when I linked it to my website it wouldn't open! It starts to, and it gets to the point where I can see my name, and then stops. Any suggestions? I really don't know what the problem could be and it's pretty frustrating. Thanks in advance!

Yes, when I go to http://www.serenitybolt.com/flashport/ (this is where it is set up) it doesn't work, but when I open it from "index.html" it is fine. I have no experience with this at all and followed an online tutorial to get this set up so I'm not sure where to go from here...

Hi, great template but there are two issues. The cursor disappears under safari. Also clicking on external link doesn't do anything. (I testing this locally in my laptop)

About the links they will open only on the server, this is some security stuff from the flash player. As for the cursor I think it is some sort of browser issue, there is nothing I can do for that, try installing the latest version of flash player.

Thanks for your quick response. Yes it seems to work fine with other browser. I am not sure if anyone else is having the same issue, would be nice to hear from other users. The other issue I just noticed is that after viewing bunch of images, it will stop loading anymore images and the menu will stop working and the forward or back cursor will also disappear. Only way to get back is to refresh browser and start over. ANy idea on that? is there a limit on images? I didn't think so.

This is happening because the image that you are trying to load has a wrong path in the xml file, make sure that the path in the xml file is exactly like the image path including character case.

As I stated before, this template works great except for the re-sizing of my images. I formatted them at a width of 1400 and they are too big. I reduced them to 1000 and they are still too big. Your sample shows your images scrolling around slightly. Mine are at least 25% too big. Here is my link. Click on the portfolio tab under galleries. http://gregsphotostudio.com.
