How do you resize this? I’ve tried resizing in the xml page, but I loose the thumb scroll and the description doesn’t work properly. I would like the overall total size to be 359×189. I also tried resizing the flash file, but I’m unable to see the thumbprints or description. Plus the directions are a bit confusing, one place it says…. resize from the xml page, another place says to resize in the flash file. ???
Please help….

Check question 3 from the tips and tricks area ( you have the link in the product description ). In the xml configuration file you have parameters to resize the description box visible area size, thumbs scroller visible area size etc, individual elements.

I edited the flash file as specified in question 3 from the tips and tricks. I changed all the parameters
I thinkin the configuration file. I resized the photos, large & small. The big image and description work on the first photo only, after that it moves the photos and description to the left. The thumbprints won’t scroll at all.@ <object param=“useAutoPlay” value=“0” /> <object param=“autoPlayDelay” value=“2.5” /> <!— a numeric value in seconds —> <object param=“maxThumbWidth” value=“70” /> <object param=“maxThumbHeight” value=“40” /> <object param=“thumbsOffset” value=“0” /> <!— when using mirror you can set the maxThumbHeight to be double your image height —> <object param=“bannersOffset” value=“0” /> <object param=“itemsX” value=“0” /> <!— thumbs menu together with the auto play buttons clip position —> <object param=“itemsY” value=“0” /> <object param=“thumbsX” value=“289” /> <!— only thumbs menu clip position —> <object param=“thumbsY” value=“0” /> <object param=“useMenuRollOverScroll” value=“1” /> <object param=“useThumbsFocusRect” value=“1” /> <object param=“useRollOverColoring” value=“1” /> <object param=“rollOverColorIntensity” value=“25” /> <object param=“rollOutColorIntensity” value=”-25” /> <object param=“coloringSpeed” value=“5” /> <object param=“thumbsScrollAlpha” value=“0” /> <!— a numeric value between 0 and 100 —> <object param=“thumbsScrollViewAreaWidth” value=“70” /> <!— visible area width —> <object param=“thumbsScrollViewAreaHeight” value=“189” /> <!— visible area height —> <object param=“thumbsScrollAcceleration” value=“0.2” /> <object param=“thumbsScrollMode” value=“scrollBar” /> <!— can be full, scrollBar, buttons —> <object param=“bannerScrollAlpha” value=“0” /> <object param=“bannerScrollViewAreaWidth” value=“289” /> <!— visible area width —> <object param=“bannerScrollViewAreaHeight” value=“189” /> <!— visible area height —> <object param=“bannerScrollAcceleration” value=“0.35” /> <object param=“bannerScrollMode” value=“scrollBar” /> <!— can be full, scrollBar, buttons —>

I forgot to post the overall size which should be 359×189. Which would make the big photo 289×189 and the small thumb 70×40. Thanks.

Hi,
You need to edit .fla file and edit the big image clip / border clip to fit that size and also you can edit the imgMc clip / border clip and over shadow clip for small thumbs.

Hey I’m almost there :) Thanks for your reply. I still have a problem with the text. The text box is correct, it goes to 289 px, and the text scroller is working properly, however the actual text itself is only going across about… say 150 px before it wraps down.
I also have a dropdown menu that is going behind the banner. Is there something I can do to make dropdown menu come in front of banner. Thanks.

Hi,
I have got a small problem with your component. As soon as I remove or replace an image by an other in foldres smallimage and bigimage, and keeping the same name (p1.jpg, P2.jpg…), order of the small images is disturbing. It apperas with cycle of 3 pictures instread of five… I apologize for my english, but do you understand my problem ? And have you got a solution ?

Hi,
As long as the image urls are correctly specified inside the xml configuration file exists in the respective folder on the server it will work just fine. In addition you can also check question 12 from the tips and tricks area ( you have the link in the product description ).

Hello, FlashComponents.net suggested I contact you directly with my technical issue.
I recently purchased the product XML Banner Rotator 2 slideshow and gallery (commercial version) and have successfully inserted my own content and have created 5 different swf files with it for my 5 portfolio galleries. I now want to insert each one into my website across 5 separate pages using Dreamweaver. However where they are located on my Dreamweaver site root folder it will not read them. I have found where they do need to go instead, but herein lies the problem – each of the 5 files xml files attached to them I left all named as config.xml (as they came with the purchase), and now each of my 5 different swfs reads the xml content from only my first xml file.
I want to find out how I can rename each xml file from within each different Flash file themselves or attach this new renamed file to it (I am assuming this is how I could overcome the problem?), but I have searched everywhere in Flash, within the xml code and indeed online and the FAQs and am unable to find anything to help. I have used Flash before as a beginner but never used an editable XML component with it, so I do not have much coding experience here! I have not yet uploaded any of my content live on my website yet.
I hope you can help! An it’s an excellent product by the way, I was really pleased with it. Many thanks.

Hi,
You need to use FlashVars parameter inside the html page(s) of your site for the object and embed tags in order to specify different xml configuration file names. Check questions number 1,7,8,11, 21 and other useful questions from the FAQ area on our site at:

Hi, many thanks for your reply re: my XML problem below, I’ve tried all of what you’ve suggested below, but I can’t get it to work, I think I’m not clear enough about where exactly the code needs to go in the HTML. I only use Dreamweaver and have no knowledge of HTML otherwise. Is there a way of explaining it to me in a Dreamweaver way please?! I basically clicked ‘insert SWF’ into the required position in the Dreamweaver document, and when I look at the split/code view I just don’t know where the ‘FlashVars parameter’ and ‘embed tags’ are supposed to go exactly. I’ve tried them all over the place to no avail. If you could help again it’d be much appreciated. Many thanks

Check ( or open in Dreamweaver ) the source code inside the index.html file provided within the download package and look for the AC_FL_RunContent() javascript function to see how to inser the swf file using javascript. Check also the question number 1 second method using the AC_FL_RunContent() method to insert a swf file inside html.
In the parameters list of the AC_FL_RunContent() function add somewhere this code line:
‘FlashVars’,‘xmlFile=yourconfig.xml’,
