edwardcyh, that is actually pretty simple, all you have to do in the FLA file is to replace x.load(“notebook.xml” with x.load(_root.xmlFile)
When embedding the notebook.swf file be sure to be adding flashvars.xmlFile = “your_xml_file.xml”;
An example of using flashvars could be found at my Flash Carousel (this is using swfobject)

I am having a little problem trying to use FlashVars with this component. Basically, I want to pass the name of the xml file via a flashvar.

I saw the x.load command and know that’s where we change the xml file name. Obviously, I am a flash noob, and I have given up to ask for assistance.

Any light you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I‘d like to know how I can add a button on the Flash that will allow the user to go to the previous photo in the sequence? Right now when they click the photo it goes to the next photo.
