RSS Reader
The RSS Reader displays the title, link, pubDate and description from items in your RSS feed. Includes instructions on how to easily make your own feed! Your visitors can subscribe to it for all your latest news.
* The RSS 2 .0 feed is parsed by a PHP file. (If you don't have PHP 5 support on your web server, download the additional PHP 4 version).
* You can change the colours of the item title, link colour, link hover colour, preloader and RSS icon through the PHP file
* You can easily change the size, layout and design in the Flash file.
Please note that it is not guaranteed that all RSS feeds will work with this reader. If the description field contains only html characters that are compatible with flash, then it should work. Alternatively there are instructions on how to strip html tags from the description in the php file which should then allow it to work. Also any images that are embeded in the description need to have their height and width specified in order for the scroller to work properly. If you use the provided sample RSS file then you shouldn't have any problems .
You can now purchase this as part of the News Viewer Package:

Thanks!

Sorry about that, for some reason it isn't appearing correctly in these comments. please give me your email address and I'll email you the correct code to replace.
Well, you typed the same thing in both boxes. I replaced line 52 with it anyway. I did not work - undefined.
try replacing line 52 of the php file which reads:
preg_match_all("#
(.*?)
#s",$rsstemp,$descriptions);with
preg_match_all("#
(.*?)
#s",$rsstemp,$descriptions);
How do I allow more text to be shown? No matter what, on the 7th line, it ends the feed with "[....]". (feeding from wordpress RSS)
The scroll bar is useless because the text will never go down that far.
Any suggestions?
Hi,
Can you please email me with your files and the location of your RSS feed and I'll take a look.
Kind Regards,
Nellie
When I enter the URL to an RSS feed in the PHP file, The RSS Reader does not work. And when I click on the RSS Feed Icon Button, the browser displays this message...
No file exists at the address %u201C/users/matt/Desktop/RSS Reader/"$feedUrl%u201D.
Which means that the browser is looking for the file on my desktop, and that there is some problem with the code that clearly states....
// Link to RSS feed. Change this to the full location of your feed.
$feedUrl="http://creativespark.com.au/flash/rss/sample3.xml";
Any suggestions?
