top Top Resources for Free Image, Audio and Video Files to Use in Your Commercial Projects

We have created a great library of image, audio and video files that you can use freely in your commercial projects. You will find a lot of amazing creations that can be used for commercial or non-commercial purposes and that will complete your projects. Below you can find a list with links for each of the three categories: image, audio and video.
 
To download a file, just click on a link and go to that website. As you will notice, every resource we chose to include in our library has a description regarding the necessity of creating an account on that website, the terms of use, the diversity of files you can find there and how you can download them.
 
Very important: Please keep in mind that you must read and accept the license of use for every website you are planning to download from! We will not be held responsible for any of the files listed here that you download and use in your projects.
 

A. IMAGE Resources

1. SXC - This is known to be the largest free photo database and we use it all the time on our blog.  If you want to download a photo, we recommend signing up for an account, otherwise you'll only be able to download images at a small size. You'll find the typical browsing option, in the left side of the page. After you enter a keyword of what photo you need, you'll see the paid collection in the upper side of the page, and the free collection below it. Please keep in mind that the license for the free download and use specifies that you can only use the images to present your file (slideshow, website template, etc). You will not include it in the commercial archive that the user downloads after purchasing your file.
 
2. Morgue File - To download free photos, just browse throught the collections using a keyword to launch the search. Every image there has specifications below it regarding terms of use, so please make sure to read it. You can crop the image and use just a part of it and download it freely. You don't need to create an account.
 
3. Public Domain Photos - You can use these photos for any purpose, including commercial, no strings attached. Just make sure it doesn't include a logo, because this might get you a lawsuit. No login needed.
 
4. Free Range Stock - On this free stock photo website you can find a wide range of high-quality photos. You just have to register and then download any image you want and use it as you please. Just don't distribute it!
 
5. Image Base - This website is pretty organized and you can choose the category of pictures you would like to see: people, nature, objects etc. These are free to use but please read carefully the license of the photos you want to download as you might have to attribute it to its author.
 

B. AUDIO Resources

1. Jamedo This is a great resource for audio files. First you have to register for an account. Then, in order to find and download free files that can be used in commercial projects, you must go to Music->Creative Commons. Click on the creative commons license icon below the file before downloading it to make sure the terms of use allows you to freely use it in commercial projects.
 
2. Ccmixter Tremendous collection with many tools that you can use in finding great files. We used and liked 'Remixes'. You can listen to the files and you can check their description and license information using the 'i' option.
 

VIDEO Resources

1. iMovies - This is a free public domain movies directory, which means you can freely download and include these videos in your file. It includes old movies and cartoons you can dowload without having to create an account. Just save the file in an .mp4 or .avi format and use it in your project.
 
2. OpenFLV - They've got movies, documentaries, cartoons you can download and use freely in your commercial projects. Click on a category, then on the file you want and you will find the "download" option in the left side of the file.
 
3. Archive - Great resource for video files. Just click on the "Moving Images" tab and choose from the categories listed there. Once you get to the file you want, to download it go to Play/Download box located in left side of the page and you're done.
 
Other free resources for audio and video you can find on Creative Commons Directory Listing. Just choose between the two directories, enter a search word and find what you need.
